The Wall called it a day!!!
Everywhere it seems like there is only one topic and for a change Indian Cricket fans have same opinion about this. "The Wall" calling it a day. He had retired from ODI some time back. But now he bid adieu to his core game "Test Cricket".
There are differences about Sachin being "God" or Viru being "The destroyer". But RD being "The Wall" has no arguments. This makes him different in the pack. I never had been Rahul's hard core fan, however I as lots of other cricket fans always felt that he did not get the credit that he deserved. 2nd highest run getter, man who played virtually at every spot in batting order upto 7th being in team as specialist batsman, kept wicket when team required him to do so (and it was not what he liked too much). Most of the times he played match saving / winning knock and he had someone stealing the glory. At Kolkota it was VVS or Sachin when talked about centuries or runs scored. But that does not take away his class from him. To see how capable a person is, look what his opponents speak about him. Here is one "I can't recall beating him more than one ball in a row"
To suit his style, his way of announcing retirement was also unique I have never stopped trying
Jammy we'll miss you and no 3 spot in batting order and slip spot Indian Test team will no longer be as interesting as it was before. Wishing you all the best from all cricket fans.....
